O.119th/Henney·2+ weeks ago**Possible theft attempt** I live at Hedy and SE 132nd, in the Maple Ridge addition,and at approximately 9:45am a black, 2006ish GMC extended cab truck with wood boards sticking out of the bed of the truck over the tailgate, pulled in front of my neighbors yard on Hedy, then backed up in front of my mailbox/drive way and sat for a few seconds and then slowly drove back up 132nd. My tingly senses were going off, and rightfully so, because a few minutes later it came back and did the same thing, but instead stopped when about to pull up 132nd, making the perfect angle to back down my drive, potentially to try to hookup to my trailer. He drove off as soon as I came out of my house. Do not come at me for accusing someone of possibly doing wrong - I am going off of my instincts. Sharing only for awareness. It has come to our attention that someone is posing as a representative of the Utilities Department making fraudulent phone calls demanding immediate payment. The Utilities Department would like to remind all customers that we will never call to demand payment over the phone. If a payment is not received, a part of our standard procedure prior to disconnection involves issuing a 48-hour notice for residential and commercial customers, and a seven-day notice for all multifamily-unit customers. These notices will be visibly posted on the premises. What You Need to Know: •The Utilities Department will never demand payment over the phone. •In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, City offices are closed and the Utilities Department will not be issuing any collection notices for account balances nor will there be any water shutoffs for nonpayment today. •If you receive a call demanding payment, do not provide any payment details.
